Counseling

Our school counselor offers support to every student socially, emotionally, and academically. At St. Patrick, counseling is always a partnership with families. Parents are part of the process, and our counselor works alongside teachers and families to make sure every child has what they need to grow and thrive.

Individual Counseling

Any student can meet with our counselor for support with anxiety, friendship, grief and loss, self-esteem, stress, organization, study-skills, and more. A teacher or parent may reach out at any time and families are kept informed and involved.

Small Group Counseling

Throughout the year, our counselor may form small groups based on the needs of students, drawing on referrals from teachers or parents. Groups may focus on topics such as social skills or study skills, for example, and are shaped by what the students need most that year.

Classroom Counseling

Every student in Kindergarten through 5th grade receives weekly counseling lessons. Topics include listening skills, friendship, feelings, safety, character, and social skills. These lessons build a common language and culture of care across all of our classrooms.
