DRESS CODE 2011-12
Students at St. Patrick’s School are expected to dress according to the following dress code:
On Mass days, full dress uniform is required. For girls, grades K-3 must wear the jumper. Fourth grade girls may wear the jumper or the plaid skirt. Fifth grade girls may wear the skort or the plaid skirt. For boys, K-5, long pants must be worn.
GIRLS: Grades K-5 wear the uniform jumper, navy blue skort, navy pants or walking shorts, from the uniform company. Any of these may be worn with a hunter green or white long or short sleeved blouse or knit shirt. The blouse or shirt must have a collar and only school logos are acceptable. Shirts and blouses are to be tucked in at all times. A belt is optional. During cold weather girls have the option of wearing a navy, white, or green cardigan sweater, a school uniform sweatshirt, or the green fleece available from PTO. Gray uniform sweatshirts may be worn only by 5th graders. Also, the new uniform plaid skirt may be worn by 4th and 5th grade girls. Sweatshirts not sold by the uniform company are not permitted. Solid white turtleneck shirts may be worn. White T-shirts may be worn under the blouse or shirt but may not hang below the blouse or shirt. If shorts are worn under the jumper, they must be a solid color and not hang below the jumper. No hats, scarves or bandanas are to be worn inside the school building.
Socks - Solid white, forest green, or navy knee socks, or solid white crew socks are to be worn. White, forest green or navy tights may be worn in colder weather. Footless tights are not allowed. Socks must be worn at all times and be visible.
Shoes – Athletic shoes are permitted. A Mary Jane or ballet style shoe is acceptable. No flashing lights on shoes or excessive colors or designs. No sandals, hiking boots, open back shoes or slides of any kind. This also applies to dress down days. Athletic shoes must be worn on PE days.
P.E. Uniform – 4th and 5th graders are expected to dress out for each P.E. class. They are to wear the gray St. Patrick’s logo t-shirt.
Girls are not permitted to use any make-up. No tattoos of any type or hair dyes. Jewelry and hair accessories must be simple and not out of character with the uniform (i.e. multi-colored bracelets, chains, earrings etc.). Hair is clean and neatly styled.
BOYS: Grades K-5 wear navy uniform pants or walking shorts from the uniform company. A belt is optional. Shirts may be either a hunter green or white dress shirt or knit shirt, with long or short sleeves. Shirts must be worn tucked in. During cold weather boys have the option of wearing a navy or green cardigan sweater, school uniform sweatshirt, or the green fleece available from PTO. The gray sweatshirts may be worn only by 5th graders. Sweatshirts not sold by the uniform company are not permitted. A solid white turtleneck shirt may be worn. A solid white t-shirt may be worn under the shirt but may not hang below the school uniform shirt. Also, no fleece vests, coats, or outerwear may be worn in the classroom.
Shoes - Athletic shoes are permitted. Black or brown loafers are acceptable but athletic shoes must be worn on PE days. No hiking boots, sandals or open back shoes of any kind. This also applies to dress down days. Boys are expected to wear crew socks.

Boys may not wear their hair touching the collar of their shirt. Bangs must be above the eyes. Hair is to be clean and neatly styled. Excessive jewelry may not be worn. Tattoos and hair dye are not permitted. No hats, scarves, or bandanas are to be worn inside the school building.
Student’s name should be on every part of the uniform in case it is misplaced. The school does not assume responsibility for any clothing that is lost or stolen.

St. Patrick’s School administration reserves the right to make rulings involving clothing/hair fads and/or accessories.
No Uniform Passes – During the year, we have a few no uniform days. These may be fundraiser days or reward days. On these days, children should dress neatly. These passes may not be used on days we attend Mass. Tank tops and shirts with inappropriate graphics are not permitted.
